Have Your Say: Proposed Renaming of Jacquelyn Court Park, Oakey

Project Update

Project Update – Park Renaming Consultation

Thank you to everyone who participated in the recent community consultation regarding the proposed renaming of Jacquelyn Court Park.

Feedback received during the consultation indicated that Cory Street Park may be a more suitable location for the proposed name given its strong family connection to Mr Geoff Dickins and the significance of the park’s location to the area where Mr Geoff Dickins primarily resided.

In response to this feedback, Council is now seeking further input from the community on which park should be renamed Geoff Dickins Park.

We are inviting residents to have their say on the following two options:

• Jacquelyn Court Park

• Cory Street Park

Feedback received through the poll on the Have Your Say tab will indicate the community’s preferred park for renaming and help inform Council’s decision on the proposed park renaming.

This consultation will be in accordance with Council’s adopted 7.21 Naming/Renaming of Parks and Park Infrastructure Policy, all renaming requests are subject to a formal assessment process.
