Cecil Plains - 'A hive of activity'

9 April 2019

With three large events so far this year, Cecil Plains has been a hive of activity starting with the Australia Day celebrations at the Cecil Plains pool. A large crowd gathered at the pool for a great breakfast cooked by the Progress Association and to recognise the hard work of this year’s Australia Day nominees. This was followed by Summer Tunes on 10February with a great day down on the banks of the Condamine River where more than 100 locals enjoyed the music of Toowoomba band Tux. Just two weeks later, the “Send ‘er down Hughie” drought event was held in Henry Stuart Russell Park with more than 200 locals enjoying a free barbecue, children’s entertainment and the wonderful band Special Guest. A great night for the drought-affected community with lots of positive feedback.
