Clifton Megafauna Group

6 April 2018

On 13 March, a Clifton Megafauna information night was held at Clifton Community Health Services, Diversional Therapy Building. About 40 people attended, including Mayor Paul Antonio and Councillors O'Hara Sullivan, Sommerfield, Glasheen and Ramia.

Clifton is an area rich with fossils. The wonderful information evening held by the Clifton Megafauna Group Inc. highlighted how the group is dedicated to the preservation and promotion of megafauna specimens found in the local area. In time the group hopes to secure funds for the construction of a museum to house its collections. The guest speaker for the night was Dr Gilbert Price PhD from the University of Queensland and Mr Ian Sobbe, who is an accomplished private fossil collector.
