Rocky Creek Festival of Small Halls Summer Tour

Thanks to State Government Drought Support Package funding, TRC’s Community Development team brought the Festival of Small Halls to seven small towns across the region, will all funds raised from ticket sales and catering going directly to the local hall committees. The festival international, national and local musicians to perform for one night of music and fun and is produced by the team that co-ordinates the Woodford Folk Festival.

The small community of Rocky Creek outside of Millmerran was the opening concert for the Spring 2018 tour of the festival. Channel 7’s Big Day Out even travelled to Rocky Creek to do a feature for their TV show, showcasing the community’s wonderful spirit. Local CDO Linda Weymouth and the local hall committee did an amazing job organising the day, with 120 people attending on a Wednesday night to enjoy a free barbecue, great music and free kids’ activities. The festival gave a local act the opportunity to open for professional musicians Harry Jakamarra from Broome and Madison Violet from Canada, and 14-year-olds Bethany and Courtney impressed the crowd with their singing.
