As part of Queensland Day celebrations across the Toowoomba region, Park Run participants at Toowoomba, Oakey, Pittsworth and Highfields were able to refuel after their 5km park run with cake in celebration of Queensland's separation from New South Wales as an independent colony on 6 June 1859.

In celebrating Queensland Day, the community was able to share a sense of pride in being both Australian and a Queenslander and reflect on how lucky we are to be part of a wonderful region, state and nation.

Fifty-five participants from Highfields donned their maroon colours and ran every step with a smile on their face!
