Council is inviting residents and businesses to have their say on parking.

The existing Toowoomba City Centre Car Parking Strategy was implemented in 2019 to address requirements at the time but since then there have been changes in population, business activities and transportation patterns.

As a result, Council is now looking to develop a Toowoomba Region Parking Strategy that will aim for the best use of parking to support the Region's economic success while maintaining levels of accessibility and turnover of car parking.

The aim is to develop a more efficient, user-friendly and sustainable system that meets current and future needs.

Following the initial round of consultation, community feedback along with an analysis of the regions current parking needs has helped to inform the draft Toowoomba Region Parking Strategy.

The new strategy seeks to provide improvements across key precincts and regional towns, utilising best practice to create a simplified system that works best for the community.

Feedback on the Draft Toowoomba Region Parking Strategy will open at 9:00am on Monday, 23 June and close 9:00am on Monday, 14 July 2025.
