Toowoomba Regional Council permits over-size and over-mass (OSOM) vehicles to travel on local roads as part of its role as road manager.
Council works with the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) and the Department of Transport and Main Roads (DTMR) in determining heavy vehicle access to various roads.
Council receives numerous requests for permits to allow heavy vehicles to travel on various routes, particularly roads that access feedlots, grain silos and industrial areas.
Council is considering pre-approval for a number of routes to streamline processes, improve productivity and provide assurance for operators.
This survey is designed to gather feedback on a list of proposed pre-approved routes and invite suggestions for other pre-approved routes and general comments.
