Sport, Active Recreation & Healthy Living (SARHL) Plan 2019-26

We believe that everyone in the Toowoomba Region should have an opportunity to participate in sport and active recreation (walking, cycling, exercise / fitness) and live a healthy life.

Council endorsed a Sport, Active Recreation and Healthy Living (SARHL) Plan 2019-26 in December 2019. The new Plan identifies and deliver policies, places and programs to support sport, active recreation and healthy living across the Toowoomba Region.

The SARHL Plan sets out the Region’s vision, goals and actions on sport, active recreation and healthy living from 2019 to 2026. It contains a range of recommendations under three key areas of sport, active and healthy living, and nature-based recreation. Council undertook extensive research, review of the evidence-base, and community consultation activities to ensure the Plan responds to existing and emerging identified community needs and participation trends.

The Plan is available below (click to download).

The SARHL Plan is the accumulation of extensive research, review of the evidence-base, and community consultation activities undertaken over 2018 to 2019 to ensure the Plan responds to existing and emerging identified community needs and participation trends.
